BRICS: France To Be the First European Country To Join the Alliance?
The South African BRICS ambassador Anil Sooklal confirmed on Thursday that European countries have expressed interest to join the alliance. The development comes at a time when France is looking to end reliance on the U.S. dollar for global trade. French President Emmanuel Macron called for Europe to resist the pressures of becoming “America’s followers” . Macron also called for the European Union to end reliance on the U.S. dollar as the currency comes with a “great risk” .
